Safe friendly old magnificent hotel

I booked this last minute and paid at the hotel, staff were very friendly and welcoming and helped with our bags. Room was basic and clean with a nice bathroom. Location was good right near old town and ferry port. The hotel is very old and magnificent the interior was very ornate. It was like stepping back in time. Breakfast was nice not a huge choice but eating on the terrace was lovely with a great view. My friend and I felt very safe here and would recommend it.

That they don’t provide bottled water in the room

Charming old hotel near the port. And at start of Medina with a lovely stroll up to the Kasbah Staff were great. Very helpful

Some rooms are better than others!

Great location and lovely building. Helpful staff.

We had to change room because of a malfunctioning shower, which was annoying in a 2 night stay. The new room was much better in terms of noise and bad air from something burning across the street. My review would have been lower!

Perfect for a visit

Yusef checked us in and was so kind and friendly. Allowed us to leave our bags in reception as we arrived early. Lovely balcony cafeteria. Great location.

Little noisy. 3rd floor steps bit much for us.

great staff great location, would stay again

Everything was fantastic, if i had to sy anything negitive it was the WIFI on the 3rd floor it was hit and miss, however the wifi in the lobby was excelent.

Great location

Very interesting location on the edge of the Medina but with great views across the bay. Lovely staff. Interesting hotel/museum.

I have some reduced mobility so the stairs were a bit of a trial for me. Staff very helpful with my case. I missed out on breakfast because I couldn't face going down the stairs and then the climb up to the terrace. I'm sure if I'd told the staff this there would have been a work around but I'm not a big breakfast person so I chose not to put them to the trouble.

Beautiful hotel

Beautiful hotel in a scenic location. The staff was nice and our room was large and comfortable. Breakfast had a lot of options.

Our rooms had an ocean view. On the weekend it got really noisy with wedding parties setting off fireworks and honking car horns all night until 6 am. If you stay on a Friday or Saturday, ask for a room in a different part of the hotel so you can get some sleep.

A nice experience and decent value for money

Friendly staff, excellent location, good breakfast and the old hotel has a lot of historical charm.

The rooms are small and need updating - very noisy and no hot water between midday and 7pm

Historic hotel with amazing location

I loved the location of the hotel. Right next to the port and very close to the Kasbah on the edge of the Medina. The history of the building is well preserved and there are some truly beautiful sights to be seen inside and on the balconies outside. The staff was always helpful and kind. The included breakfast was good and made it easy to fill up before getting out and exploring Tangier while also saving some money on meals. The room was cozy and the AC worked like a charm which was great on the warmer days. Only a ~20 minute walk to the beach if you’re up for swimming and tanning. I really enjoyed my stay.

The WiFi was a bit inconsistent and you will be walking up many sets of stairs inside and outside the building.

Character hotel but needs an upgrade

Loved the location, beautiful building with a nice historic facade.

Hotel is tired and needs investment internally. Beds not very comfortable. Breakfast limited. Typical of Morocco generally, there is an expectation of tipping for basic services thst can become tedious. An issue with the safe in our room took hours to resolve.

Amazing stay, really friendly staff ! The breakfast could be more complete, at times felt that I had to wait until stocking up the food. The stairs! Going up with luggage with those stairs was a nightmare , other than that the whole stay was pretty sound ! Amazing view towards the city !
